A Panchayat is a collective body of elected representatives responsible for managing the administrative affairs of Panchayati Raj institutions. As far as a Grama Panchayat is concerned, it is the primary committee that implements the decisions of the Grama Sabha and handles day-to-day administration.Key Components of a Panchayat:President: The head of the Panchayat. They preside over meetings and supervise the overall functioning of the Panchayat.Vice President: Discharges the duties and responsibilities in the absence of the President.Ward Members: Elected representatives from each ward within the Panchayat.Standing Committees: These are sub-committees formed to facilitate easier decision-making in specific areas such as Finance, Development, Welfare, Health, and Education.
